Compared to such power, my soul is but a trifle cost to pay."'' - Crovanis Brim, elven warlock. Warlock description. Warlocks have the following game statistics. '''Abilities:''' Charisma is the warlock's most important statistic, making the warlock's aspects and invocations harder to resist. Dexterity is important as well, since it allows you to better aim your eldritch blasts as well as increase armor class. And, as always, a high Constitution helps any character's chances at survival. '''Alignment:''' Warlock powers tend to come from fiendish or fey sources, but they can be of any alignment. However, those who skirt the path of darkness have a tendency to fall into it, leading the vast majority of warlocks to be Evil, Chaotic, or both. ==<font color="red" size=6 face="MagicMedieval">'''Class Features of the Warlock'''</font>== <font color="red">'''''Hit Die'''''</font> d6 <font color="red">'''''Skill Points'''''</font> 4 + Intelligence modifier each level (x4 at 1st level) <font color="red">'''''Class Skills'''''</font> Balance, Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Disguise, Hide, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge, Move Silently, Perform, Profession, Search, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Tumble, Use Magic Device {|align="center" style="text-align:center;" class="class bordered header zebra" |+'''Warlock Class Progression''' |- !rowspan="2"|Level||rowspan="2"|Base<br>Attack||rowspan="2"|Fort<br>Save||rowspan="2"|Ref<br>Save||rowspan="2"|Will<br>Save||rowspan="2"|Special||rowspan="2"|Eldritch<br>Aspects||colspan="5"|Invocations Known |- !Least||Lesser||Greater||Grand||Dark |- |1st||+0||+0||+0||+2||Eldritch Blast||1 (Minor)||2|| || || || |- |2nd||+1||+0||+0||+3||DR 1/cold iron||1||3|| || || || |- |3rd||+2||+1||+1||+3||Eldritch Resilience +1||2||3|| || || || |- |4th||+3||+1||+1||+4||Deceive Item||2||4|| || || || |- |5th||+3||+1||+1||+4||DR 2/cold iron||3||4||1|| || || |- |6th||+4||+2||+2||+5||Energy Resistance 5||3||4||2|| || || |- |7th||+5||+2||+2||+5||Eldritch Resilience +2||4 (Major)||5||2|| || || |- |8th||+6||+2||+2||+6||DR 3/cold iron||4||5||3|| || || |- |9th||+6||+3||+3||+6||Drain Item||5||5||3||1|| || |- |10th||+7||+3||+3||+7||Energy Resistance 10||5||5||3||2|| || |- |11th||+8||+3||+3||+7||DR 5/cold iron||6||6||4||2|| || |- |12th||+9||+4||+4||+8||Imbue Item||6||6||4||3|| || |- |13th||+9||+4||+4||+8||Eldritch Resilience +3||7 (Superior)||6||4||3||1|| |- |14th||+10||+4||+4||+9||DR 7/cold iron||7||6||4||3||2|| |- |15th||+11||+5||+5||+9||Energy Resistance 20||8||6||5||4||2|| |- |16th||+12||+5||+5||+10||Infuse Item||8||7||5||4||3|| |- |17th||+12||+5||+5||+10||DR 9/cold iron||9||7||5||4||3||1 |- |18th||+13||+6||+6||+11||Eldritch Resilience +4||9||7||5||4||3||2 |- |19th||+14||+6||+6||+11||Energy Immunity||10 (Supreme)||7||5||5||4||2 |- |20th||+15||+6||+6||+12||DR 12/cold iron, Transcend Item||10||7||6||5||4||3 |} <font color="red">'''''Weapon and Armor Proficiency'''''</font> Warlocks are proficient with all simple weapons. They are proficient with light armor but not with shields. Because the somatic components required for warlock invocations are relatively simple, a warlock can use any of his invocations while wearing light armor without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. However, like arcane spellcasters, a warlock wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure (most invocations, including eldritch blast, have a somatic component). A multiclass warlock still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from levels in other classes. <font color="red">'''''Invocations'''''</font> A warlock does not prepare or cast spells as other wielders of arcane magics do. Instead, he possess a repertoire of attacks, defenses, and abilities known as invocations that require him to focus the wild forces suffuses his soul. Invocations come in five grades: least, lesser, greater, grand, and dark, and a warlock gains a number of invocations of each grade as shown on the class progression table. For details on invocations and a list of what invocations are available, see the invocations section below. The warlock's caster level for his invocations is equal to his warlock level. The save DC for an invocation (if it allows a save) is equal to 10 + its effective spell level + the warlock's Charisma modifier. All warlock invocations are considered arcane spell-like abilities. Every new level, a warlock may switch any single invocation he knows with another invocation of the same grade. <font color="red">'''''Eldritch Blast (Sp)'''''</font> One innate power that every warlock knows is the eldritch blast. An eldritch blast is the warlock's most basic form of attack, a simple invocation that unleashes energy in the form of a ray. This ray has a range of 60 ft, and deals 1d6 untyped damage per 2 caster levels (rounded up) + your Charisma modifer as a ranged touch attack at a single target. Eldritch blast deals half damage to objects. An eldritch blast counts as a 1st level spell-like ability, allowing you to apply feats such as Quicken Spell-Like Ability to it. In addition, an eldritch Blast counts as a spell of a level equal to half your caster level (rounded up) for the purposes of penetrating effects like Globe of Invulnerability. An eldritch Blast is subject to spell resistance, though the feat Spell Penetration and other effects that improve caster level and overcome spell resistance apply to eldritch blast. Metamagic feats that apply to invocations and feats that apply to abilities (like Ability Focus) or weapons (like Weapon Focus) can apply to eldritch blast. An eldritch blast is an invocation, and does require a somatic component to perform. However, this somatic component is quite simple, such as just pointing at the target of the blast, leaving little openings for enemies to strike during the casting. Thus, using an eldritch blast does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
