'''Class Skills:''' A shifter uses the Shifter skill set and chooses two other sets. A shifter gains 4 plus their Intelligence modifier skill points per level. '''Prowess:''' 4 per level. A character may shift to activate or deactivate any number of forms at once, this is a move action that provokes attacks of opportunity. ::A shifted character takes on the qualities of an animal, as described by the player. These descriptions must match the mechanical effects (i.e., a shape with claws should be described as having claws). Shifted characters remain the same size they were before shifting, unless otherwise noted. While shifted, a shifter's equipment melds into her new form. She gains any bonuses from worn equipment, but none from any weapons. Likewise, she may not activate any of her equipment while in a shifted form (including animated shields). ::Having three or more active shapes from a single form enables provides a bonus as described under each form's heading; having five or more active shapes from a single form provides an even greater bonus. '''Bonus Feat:''' The shifter may select any of the following feats as a shifter bonus feat, provided that she already qualifies: '''Enhanced Senses (Ex):''' Upon reaching level 2 a shifter gains a +3 bonus to her Awareness Skill Set. At level 7 this bonus increases to +5. At level 12 a shifter may always take 10 with her Awareness Skill Set skills, even while threatened or distracted. At level 17 a shifter may always take 20 with her Awareness Skill set skills, even while threatened or distracted without taking the additional time implied by taking 20. Finally, she may take an additional free 5-ft step on her turn during combat. == Shifter Forms & Shapes == Shifters may assume the forms and shapes of various creatures. These forms are suited to various roles and each provides different abilities. A character may have different shapes from different forms active (see Shaper description above). All forms have a bonus based on the number of active shapes from that form. Some shapes scale with level, as described in their benefit column. Unless otherwise noted, all shapes and forms are Supernatural abilities. === Bear Form === Shifters with shapes from this form take on aspects of a bear. ; 1-shape bonus (Sp): You gain a +2 natural armor bonus to your AC for every 5 Shaper class levels (minimum +2). This stacks with other sources of Natural Armor. ; 3-shape bonus (Sp): You gain a +2 size bonus to Strength and Constitution. Your existing natural armor bonus increases by +2. You also gain a +2 size bonus to grapple checks. Your size does not increase. ; 5-shape bonus (Sp): You double in height or length, increasing your size category by one. You gain a +4 size bonus to Strength and Constitution and suffer a -2 size penalty to Dexterity. Your existing natural armor bonus increases by +4. You incur all other bonuses and penalties associated with an increase in size. Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack. {|border=1px !Shape !! Benefit |- | Attack Focus || You gain a +1 enhancement bonus to attack for every 4 shifter levels (minimum +1). |- | Claw || You gain a claw natural attack. You may not have more than two claw attacks at once. This attack deals 1d4 damage for small and 1d6 damage for medium size and increases in damage as normal for size increases. |- | Bear Hug || You gain the Improved Grab special ability. |- | Bear Strength || You gain a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength and +5 temporary hit points for every 4 shifter levels (minimum 2 Strength and 5 hit points). |- | Improved Grapple || You gain access to the Improved Grapple feat while using this shape. |- | Power Attack || You gain access to the Power Attack feat while using this shape. |- | Unbearable Wrath || Whenever you use Power Attack with at least a -4 attack penalty, an opponent you strike must make a Reflex Save (DC damage done) or else fall prone. |} === Boar Form === Shifters with shapes from this form take on aspects of a boar. ; 1-shape bonus: You gain +1 HP per Shifter class level. ; 3-shape bonus: You gain DR 5/silver, +4 Natural Armor. ; 5-shape bonus: You gain DR 15/silver, +8 Natural Armor, and a +4 bonus to Will saves. This replaces the benefit from the 3-shape bonus. {|border=1px !Shape !!Benefit |- | Ferocity || Continue to fight even while disabled or dying. Beginning at Shifter level 8 and every 4 levels thereafter, gain +5 DR/- while at less than 1/3 HP. |- | Gore Attack || You gain a gore natural attack. Small sized creatures deal 1d6 damage, medium sized creatures deal 1d8, and large sized creatures deal 2d6. |- | Rage || You gain a +4 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 morale bonus on Will saves, but a -2 penalty to Armor Class. While active, the Shifter may not switch any shapes and the effect may not be ended prematurely. This effect lasts 3 + Constitution modifier rounds. |- | Razorback || Every round you are in a grapple you deal 1 damage to all opponents you are grappled with. Beginning at Shifter level 4 this increases to 1d4, at level 8 to 1d8, and at level 12 to 2d6. |- | Tenacious Charge || Ignore rough terrain and obstacles while charging. Every 4 Shifter levels you may an additional +2 damage to each attack on a charge. |- | Terrible Charge || You may move an additional 10-ft while in a charge. At Shifter level 6 you no longer have to charge in a straight line. |- | Uncanny Dodge || You may retain your dexterity bonus even while flatfooted or struck by an invisible attacker. At level 7 you may no longer be flanked. |} === Ghost Form === Shifters with shapes from this form take on aspects of a ghost. ; 1-shape bonus : You may affect ethereal creatures with your attacks. ; 3-shape bonus : Opponents within 20-ft + 10-ft x Charisma Bonus must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 Shaper Level + Charisma Bonus) or become shaken. Creatures who have already saved against this effect are immune. ; 5-shape bonus : Once per round, select an opponent who is engaged in melee with you. On a successful attack he must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 Shaper Level + Will Bonus) or become paralyzed. Your opponent may make a new save every 1d4 rounds. {|border=1px !Shape !!Benefit |- | Corrupting Touch || You deal an additional 1d4 damage with your natural attacks. At level 8 this improves to 1d6. At level 12 you may instead deal 1d4 Strength damage, this improves to 1d6 Strength damage at level 16. |- | Disappear || For a number of rounds equal to your Wisdom modifier, you become Invisible as a standard action, as per the Invisibility spell. You may not change forms while invisible. This form may only be used once per day. |- | Displacement || For every 2 Shifter levels you gain 10% miss chance (maximum 50%) as though you have concealment. This does not prevent creatures from targetting you normally. True seeing reveals your true location. |- | Fearful Glance || As a standard action, you may attempt scare all opponents within 30-ft. Opponents must make a Will Save (DC 10 + 1/2 Shaper Level + Charisma Bonus) or else become shaken. Creatures that are already shaken instead become frightened. |- | Overcome Resistance || Your natural weapons are considered Silver for purposes of overcoming DR.
