Back to [[Serpents and Sewers: Species and Templates|Species]] Back to the [[Serpents and Sewers|Main page]] ==Hadozee in Serpents and Sewers== The Hadozee are a species of simian-like humanoids who are covered with a brown to black fur and have a patagia spanned between their arms and legs. Hadozee are formidable climbers and can use their feet as an additional pair of hands, and are as heavily muscled as an ape. ==Hadozee Racial Traits== * ''Abilities'': +2 to Strength, +2 to Dexterity, -2 to Wisdom. Hadozee are fast and tough, but also impulsive and often faster than they think. * ''Monstrous Humanoid'': Hadozee are not pure anthropomorphic creatures and are therefore not affected by spells and effects that specifically target humanoid creatures. * ''Medium:'' As medium creatures, Hadozee are subject to no adjustments due to their size. * A Hadozee's base land speed is 20 feet when he moves upright, and 30' when they move on all fours. Since their legs are effectively another pair of arms, their stature is not suited well for upright walking. * A Hadozee has a Climb speed of 20'. This includes a +8 racial bonus to all Athletics checks made for climbing and suffer from no penalties to their defense during a fight while climbing. * ''Controlled Falling'': The patagia of the Hadozee does not allow for outright flight, but it allows them to glide. A Hadozee never take more than 1d6 of falling damage, independently of the actual height of the fall. They can also use their patagia to glide 20' horizontally for every 5 foot of descent, at a speed of 30' and with poor maneuvaribility. They lose the ability to glide when they wear medium or heavy armor or carry a medium or heavy load. * ''Mokey Nimbleness:'' Their great body coordination skills grant Hadozee a +2 racial bonus to Acrobatics and Athletics checks. * ''Four Hands:'' Hadozee can use their feet as an additional pair of hands, with equal fine manipulation abilities to their normal hands. This is most useful while climbing, but it also allows for some interesting additional actions - for example at grappling. Hadozee are treated as one size category larger than they actually are for grappling purposes only. A side effect is ,that Hadozee cannot wear footwear (including magical footwear), but can wear an additional set of gloves or gauntlets. * ''Expert Throwers'': Hadozee gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls with thrown weapons. * ''Favored Class'': Bravo or Thief. A Hadozee character that follows these two classes receives an additional skill point per level. ===Further Advancement of Hadozee=== {| border="1" !Level !Feature |- |4th |Monkey Leaps, Acrobatics +1 |- |8th |Brachiator |- |12th |Acrobatics +2, Monkey Kippup |- |16th |Ability Boost |- |20th |Acrobatics +3, Flight of the Monkey |- |} * ''Monkey Leaps(ex)'': There are few species which can jump as well as a Hadozee, especially a Hadozee of 4th level or higher who has learned to use his patagia to glide while jumping. Hadozee are treated as if they always have a running start while making a jump and gain a +4 racial bonus to All athletics checks made for the purpose of jumping. * ''Acrobatics'': Starting on 4th level, the mobility and agilitiy of Hadozee grant them an additional racial +1 bonus to Acrobatics checks and a +1 dodge bonus to their defense when wearing light or no armor. Any time the Hadozee loses his or her Dexterity bonus (if any) to Defense, such as when it is caught flat-footed, it loses its dodge bonus, too. The bonuses increase to +2 on 12th level and to +3 on 20th level. * ''Brachiator'': At 8th level, a Hadozee's climb speed increase to 30'. He can also move through wooded area by swinging from tree to tree at full climbing speed and when doing so, they ignore all forms of penalties due to terrain. * ''Monkey Kippup:'' When tripped or otherwise knocked prone, a Hadozee can get upright again as a free action at the beginning of his or her next turn without provoking an attack of opportunity. * ''Ability Bonus'': On 16th level, Hadozee characters may increase their Dexterity or Charisma score by +2 points. * ''Flight of the Monkey'': At 20th level, a Hadozee learns to use their Patagia for something resembling true flight. Their maneuverability doesn't change, but their Flight speed increase to 40' and they don't glide anymore, they truly fly, as long
