'''Pokémon World Champion''' =Pokémon World Champion= In every region, aspiring Trainers seek Gym Badges in order to contest one another and the Elite Four for the title of League Champion. Some Champions seek out new challenges in other reasons; others take up a position with the regional Pokémon League and represent the ultimate challenger for hundreds if not thousands of up-and-coming Trainers. For all League Champions, both those who keep the title and those who move on, a still greater challenge awaits on the horizon: the Pokémon World Championships, accessible by invitation only to the top Trainers across the globe and attracting crowds of millions. As a starting Trainer, your experience with the Pokémon world is still very limited, but much awaits! Whatever city or town you're from, whatever region you live in, you too may one day have a chance to become the Pokémon World Champion! ==World Championships== The World Championships are held once every two years at the Pokémon World Conference. 64 Trainers are invited to take part. Prospective attendees must be Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, League champions or League winners who have refused the champion's position. A minimum of 16 Gym Badges is also expected in order to be considered for invitation.
