War is on its way in the province of Izalon. Can you stop it? Who will you side with? ==Character Creation== * Legend, 1.0 rules * Level 5 * Standard Ability array * Races allowed are Earth Pony (with the change +2 any physical, and bonus feat Any), Unicorn (with the change +2 any mental), Pegasus (already changing to be +2 any physical, talk to your GM if you were unaware), Celestial, Lurking Terror (discuss flavour with the GM), Wildborn, and Sentient Construct. * Only Unicorns, of the pony races, may have spellcasting, or spell-like abilities. Supernatural is for non-constructs. ** Exceptions will, of course, be made if the player is able to explain the abilities differently. For example, Discipline of the Crane's 5th-circle ability may be justified as any sort of warp drive, and the 7th-circle Crane might have a backup body waiting to be ported in. * You have access to 2 more items of each tier than you have bindings for, if you have bindings for that tier. This does not mean you may equip more items than you should have bindings for. * [Racial] feat restrictions reading "1st level only" are removed. Consider these carefully and talk with your GM if you wish to take them after character creation. * [Precision] damage is Highest Applies after determining total damage, not Pick-One. * Run homebrew past the GM first. He's open to it, but it must have a semblance of balance. * Character information is to be handled online (harder to lose that way), preferably in a Drive doc or through Dropbox. Numbers may be handled with copies of the LEGEND SUPER MATHIFIER beta, available from your friendly neighbourhood GM (please title "Character Name numbers"). * A collection of updated tracks is also available from your GM. ==Generated Characters== * Solemn Justice, Earth Pony Paladin, of Modira * Buddy Pal, Unicorn Paladin, of Modira * SNCU-253, Mechanical Monk, of Inzec * Double-Double, Pegasus Rogue, of Shekara * Someone Who's Been [Blown away] twice, having failed the Reflex save for half damage and reducing two instances of [Blown away] to [Prone] ==Setting== The party stays in a small city named Ivalice, that has been on the edge of war for a few years now. With who? Everyone. Your city is on the outskirts of many others that have many different leaders, each waiting for war. The only reason no one has started is because, with seven rulings so close together, a war will be suicide. Your city seems to be the least likely to be targeted. You have nothing of value, and on top of that, encompassing it are walls as tall as any building in the city, crafted of stone so strong it withstood even an armada of loxodons. Surrounding you starting at the north and going clockwise is the Shekara, on the surface a nation of traders and merchants but in the undercity and in the night they reveal that they are cunning slavers that will take villages with contracts they can’t escape trapping them forever. Their living military is small but well armed from the slave workers. The city has a wall recently build by it’s slaves. The leader of this city is the Ozara, a man who never shows his face. Everyone has seen him though, dressed in dark black wearing a face cover at all times. The only thing making him recognizable as authority is his scepter and amulet. The city sports many gothic style buildings and arabian like marketplaces where most can’t be trusted. Next to them is the Guraki, never ones to be in one place they wander between the cities. These warriors stop the cities from spreading too far by raiding whatever comes off the roads. No one outwardly attacks the Guraki as they keep the other cities from spreading too much too. Although recently they have been getting closer to the roads and pushing their luck. They have recently become more enthralled in their fights choosing do or die and on the sight of a skirmish they will rush in and attack both parties. The thing that makes this scary though is that they seem to be slightly resistant to magic magic making them daunting to new mages. Their leader is a unknown to people outside of the Guraki clan as anyone who sees him is challenged to a death fight. After the Guraki is Inzec. A city that has no walls or military and no need for them. Anyone who sets foot in Inzec has to be careful of the area. Dangerous experiments on both flesh and machine take place everywhere. Biomages graft parts of creatures into other creatures, alchemist mix chemicals that shouldn’t exist only to create contradictions of nature on the street next to colossal machines sparking with coils and flame. If you do manage to survive the natural dangers of the street you find that it is ages ahead of any other city in it’s chaotic machinery and unfathomable beasts. The ruler of this city is Torak an impossible being of her own. A scientist from when Inzec was originally just a stray science lab. She was working on a creatures long since dead trying to bring them back to life. The only way she could find was to splice the creature into herself using machines build by her colleagues. They each turned into various creatures. Torak turned herself into a partial dragon. They only difference is her size making her larger than a pony but not by much. She has since found vegetarian diet unsavory but refrains from eating ponies. Beside Inzec is Mura, the city of sin. Everyone in this city is either some kind of killer or is about to be a victim. Their military is non existent. Their walls crumbling. Every resident is armed with weapons not meant to kill but to cause pain until the victims die. The city itself is rubble and large tents meant to entertain those visitors with a taste for blood. Public tortue shows, acrobatics over boiling tar, and most commonly death pits. Pits of fighters all rioting and wriggling to kill everyone else and be honored into the next round. Mura is a dangerous place to be if you’re not a resident. Even wandering nearby can cause you to go missing. The leader of this city is an earth pony named Zulvana marked head to two in scars and decorated in spikes, horns and a feathered cloak. His coat black and red untold which is his fur and which is blood and dirt. The only city that could tolerate Mura happens to be next to it. Faug, the city of refuse. Once a garbage dump for all other cities, vagrants used the trash and occasional body to fertilize the soil and become farmers. They now take garbage and bodies readily to use as fertilizer. The only reason this city hasn’t been attacked already is because without them, most of the other cities would starve. Even then, although most of these people are farmers, they can still fight as they have become used to consistent Guraki raids. Even if they weren’t able to fight themselves, they use the aid of giant insects and elemental beings constructed of rot and plant life. These creatures only seem to answer to the leader of the city. A zebra named Liege. She seems to have found a way to use magic without being a unicorn, so the stories go. Lastly is Modira the city of law. It has high walls and an impressive army. Using it’s organized military and highly educated scholars it sets the laws for the region and enforces them. All prisoners either end up in Modira’s or Shekara to work off their sentence. Modira has the largest trained army and is backed up by rows of mages that can turn the tide of battle. It’s leader a griffon named Efira. Her feathers glisten in the rising sun as her armour does. Although wise and orderly she has no problem dispensing justice herself punishing criminals as they come. She tries her best to stall the war and keep it from happening to keep bloodshed to a minimum.
