This is the session and rewards log for [[Flickerdart's Game]]. ===Session 1: Crab Battle=== The party is accosted by a band of monsters led by fey who claimed that their cargo was a powerful and ancient item with the power to destroy forests. The fey were readily defeated but their leader escaped. Chi-52 was able to detect overwhelming Chaos from the cargo, but the hatch was sealed with scrolls neither psionic nor magic in nature. According to Captain Hurst, they should arrive at Arnaut within a week, faster now that Rinn is helping Captain Hurst with creating wind for the Waterbug's sails.
XP: 850 (1042 for Chi-52)
Loot: *10 coin-sized discs of platinum, each with a different pattern of leaves carved into both sides *200 GP in silver and copper pieces, many bearing likenesses of kings and names of nations that history has long forgotten *1000 gold coins *A potion of Blur *An elaborate collar of glass and silver (Torc of Displacement) *A small silk pouch full of emeralds *A finely crafted cloak, albeit far too small to be used for the purpose AJ: Dibs on torc ===Session 2: Make Like a Tree=== It doesn't look like the forest will let the party go that easily. Under attack by shambling mounds and treants, Chi-52 and Karadon found out the hard way that these were tougher foes than the patrol of the previous day. Eventually, even these foes were felled, adding another set of corpses or corpse-substitutes going down the river. Unlike the fey, these showed no interest in negotiation, and the party is left wondering how their enemy will up the ante next after the forest itself had risen to fight them. In the chatter post-battle, Captain Hurst brought up an old psionic master under whom his grandfather had trained. On the off-chance that anyone could survive that long without becoming notable enough for Rinn to have heard of him, he may be worth investigating if the party finds themselves in the town of Adzgi.
XP: 1029 (1286 for Chi-52)
Loot:
*Rough and itchy but sturdy gloves made from leaves and bark (Gauntlets of Giantfelling) *Treantbark Fullplate (equivalent to Dragonhide) ===Session 3: Buzz Killer, Joy Stealer=== The party docks the boat at a small island to wait out a rainstorm and rest after a battle with water elementals. There, they discovered a ruin, and ducked inside just in time to rescue an Illumian from being killed by Fey, though too late to save his party. The party learned that they are not the only ones being hunted now: all "humans" have now been marked as prey by the creatures of the woods.
XP: 1686 (1857 for Chi-52; Chi-52 has gained a level)
Loot:
*A silver bear pendant pulled from one of the dead adventurers (Amulet of Health +2) *A slightly bloodied shirt of greenish light chain links (Mithral Chain Shirt) *A small diamond found in the head of an Earth Elemental *A golden necklace set with a single bright sapphire (Amulet of Incarnum Shielding) '''Gralamin:''' I call the Amulet of Health +2
'''Edea:''' w00t Mithral Chain Shirt get ===Session 4: Left3.5Dead=== The party is beset by sneaks and the undead, and learns more of the situation from a young dragon and an ethergaunt. Each offered them protection from the fey if they would slay the other, something easier said than done. Either way, the area is on the verge of a brutal conflict between the fey and the unsuspecting human population. The ethergaunt also informed Rinn of a psionic coven beneath Lake Rogoda, far to the southwest.
XP: 1500
Loot:
*2400 ancient gold pieces *A silver flask with the image of the goddess Leliya on it *A wavy circlet cast from mithral *A golden pendant set with a fire opal *A small green-stained pearl (Sylvan Pearl of Speech) *A poisonous-green shard of crystal (Crystal of Energy Assault, Least: Acid) *A large ring set with a ruby shaped like a tiny shield (Ring of Protection +1) AJ: Dibs on the ring ===Session 5: Rock On, Elf Buddy=== The party, nearing civilization, stopped to interfere in a row between a band of Elves and some Fey that were attempting to recruit the Elves into their crusade against humans. Only one of the fey was able to escape after the party was through with them, and the battle won them favour with both the elves and a passing Lumi, who agreed to join their fight against the Fey.
XP: 960 (The party has advanced to level 7)
Loot:
*Black leather gloves inscribed with glowing runes on the inside (Gloves of Eldritch Admixture) *An elongated white crystal glowing with a soft light (Power Stone of Psionic Revivify, 3 charges) *875gp Overshee: Unless any of you have figured out how to shoot eldrich blasts, I'll take the Gloves of Eldrich Admixture
Edea: I...think I'm the only one with Psionic Revivify on my class power list, so I'll handle the Power Stone. ===Session 6: Fair Folk Promotions=== The Waterbug has arrived in Arnaut, and the volatile cargo has been delivered! As a last ditch effort to impede them, the party had to face the very source of their attackers: a physical manifestation of the desire of the Fey to stop them, His Will of Barrier. After a gruelling battle, they managed to defeat it. Then the limbs fell off and they killed those too. All of them, right?
Right?
XP: 900 (1029 for Chi-52) plus 900 Quest XP (Chi-52 has gained a level)
Loot: * 3500GP each * Corpse of His Will of Barrier, 2 limbs ====Loot Update==== Gralamin here. Having thus slain Raz, they are entitled, by Arnaut convention, to the spoils, but the dragon carried with it only a small bit of gold compared to what its hoard might contain. The Lumi discovered odd brambles on the dragon's underbelly, attached in multitudes to the tough armoured skin.
XP: 788
Loot: * A necklace of dragon scales (Amulet of Natural Armour +1) * A vial's worth of a black liquid of unspecified source (Dragon Bile) * A belt fashioned from a dragon's throat and lungs (Dragon Spirit Cincture) * Dragon unmentionables, miscellaneous * A book bound in dragon hide (Masterwork Truespeak tool) * 300 GP in a leather drawstring pouch Edea *Cough* I...erm, took the 'unmentionables' :x
Amulet is reserved for Kalen. ===Session 8: Hurry Back Before It's Burned Down=== The party has located a lab researching the capabilities of the Fey on orders from Zhenn. Rinn submitted Raz's fundamentum to be analyzed for any tampering by the Fey, and a researcher directed them to search the dragon's lair for more evidence. With their long-promised horses, the party has set out into the forest, which is, more than ever, teeming with life.
XP: 840
Loot: * 4500gp ===Session 10: We Don't Talk About Session 9=== The party blazed through a mysteriously overgrown section of the road just in time to take down necrocarnum zombies vandalizing a merchant's cart and goods. Why would they want to destroy the goods before the person and horse, and why would Fey use undead to start with?
XP: 2240
Loot: * Slightly digested gold, silver and copper pieces totalling 2400GP * Large quantity of necrocarnum-infused obsidian * "Previously enjoyed" work of art in oak frame * Udoroot crown extract * Ruby dorje (Dispel Psionics, 10 charges) * Two large and flat black stones (Sending Stones) ===Session 11: 7 Heads Are Better Than One=== Just before reaching the merchant camp, the party fought a living version of the fey they faced last time. They learned of nearby ruins where a drunk man reported seeing strange things, and of nightly kobold raids on the camp.
XP: 1470 (The party has advanced to level 8 for the most part)
Loot: * 110 platinum pieces * Star sapphire * Large amethyst * Exceptionally long piece of slender blood-red crystal (+1 Power-storing longspear (storing Hostile Empathic Transfer)) ===Session 12: Don't Feed the Wildlife=== The party met a strange illumian at the ruined tower. Between his and Ogrippo's efforts, they established that the Fey have been sending people to fight kobolds, who have been transporting the corpses from their caves through the tower in the ruins, and either hanging them up or dragging them off in the direction the party came from.
XP: 640 (840 for Chi-52)
Loot: *Large Scorpion Venom, 3 doses *A sliver of dark red crystal (Crystal of Life Drinking, Lesser) *Rugged bark boots carved with runes (Anklet of Translocation) ===Session 13: A Gracious Host=== The party descended upon a few of the kobolds that were carrying bodies, and interrogated the survivor, stuffing him into quintessence. They learned that the bodies were of the fey killed in battle against the Stoneslither kobold tribe, sold to mercenaries for unknown use. They also learned of another kobold tribe that is protected by a Battle dragon, which they may or may not have killed already.
XP: 800 (933 for Chi-52, who advances to 8th level)
Loot: * 2 Small +1 spiked chains * Small +1 padded armour * 2 suits of Small full plate * 4 scythes * 6 cloaks of resistance +1 (1 taken by Kinot) * "Pete" the Kobold ===Session 14: Enemies and Allies=== En route to the Drakewing Kobold tribe, the party wandered into an ambush by Kotori, the fey captain that they had faced on their first day on the Waterbug. Before leaving them to fight his retinue, Kotori told them of an artifact, similar to the one that they had taken to Arnaut, that was soon to be destroyed by the fey, confident that without it the humans would never be able to win.
XP: 1100
Loot: * Reach Gauntlets * Hair Shirt of Suffering * Gauntlets of Ogre Power ===Session 15: It Tastes Just Like Raisins=== The party found the Drakewing Ravine, home of the eponymous kobold tribe, in disarray and without a soul in sight, its inhabitants leaving only fortifications behind. What was alive, however, was the fey, and the group was forced to do battle with a plant monster crawling with tiny sprites that enhanced its power from within.
XP: 1200
Loot: * Boots of Swift Passage * Heartseeking Amulet Edea: HANDS OFF THE BOOTS, MINE ===Session 16: With Great Power Comes Great Paperwork=== The party liberates Drakewing Hall from the remaining fey, at the behest of one of the three remaining adult kobolds of the Drakewing tribe. They are designated as the tribe's guardians by the High Priest, granting them the tribe's ancestral power previously held by Raz, through a highly Chaotic artifact termed the Drakensceptre, purportedly more ancient than the lifespans of numerous great dragons. The kobold insisted that the fey would sense the ritual, and recall their forces to the Hall.
XP: 6000 The party has advanced to level 9!
Loot: * 40,000 GP from the dragon hoard * The kobolds are willing to let you swap your existing wealth for items and money from the hoard of equal value (essentially, selling back gear at full price instead of half). ====Loot Update==== Gralamin here. Having the chance to sell loot, we are now at a net WBL of 41794.97, which is just below 10th level WBL. You can find the math [http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ase5RiikljeLdHY3cEx6Tzl5SkdSV1VuTmpiZlNBWXc&hl=en here] (Replaced old math). *New shares are: 20,516.4 gp each. *Kinot has 1000 gp Cloak of Resistance +1, so he actually has 1000 gp less *Group Loot: Crystal of Energy Assault, Least: Acid *1 cp Spare. ===Session 17: Here Comes The Cavalry=== The party takes down a scouting party come to investigate the situation at Drakewing Hall, and the kobolds set their sights on rebuilding.
XP: 1500
===Session 18: Elevated Levels of Phlebotinum=== The party is shown a passageway found by one of the kobold hatchlings. The concealed corridor led to a room with an insane nymph watering long-dead plant creatures. Having slain her and her hellhound guardians, the party promptly ruined an elevator, and then ruined it again just to be sure.
XP: 1000
Loot: * Most of a lever * Nymph corpse
