{{nsfw}} == The Basic Nine == The most important thing about how different alignments handle sexuality is this: ''Alignment neither promotes nor discourages sexuality inherently - not any particular type of sexuality, especially. However, the details can change a lot due to a character's alignment''. In other words, homosexuality does not imply any alignment. Bisexuality does not imply any alignment. Heterosexuality does not imply any alignment. A preference for redheads does not imply any alignment. Even extremely out-there fetishes such as Nymphomania or a preference for sentient undead do not imply any alignment. (A certain, ''rare'', few ''specific'' fetishes break this rule - for example, a sexual preference for a specific alignment tends to drag the person towards that alignment.) That said, a character's alignment, while not changing or being changed by their ''base'' sexuality, can change the ''details'' massively. === Lawful Good === Lawful Good characters are always honest about their intentions and tend to be very thoughtful of consequence; anyone who is a sexual partner is someone to treat with the utmost respect. Lawful Good nature does not mean a refusal of sex, or even a refusal of extramarital sex - however, it ''does'' mean honoring the relationship. A true, consistently Lawful Good character who is married would not willingly have sex outside of the marriage without their mate's approval or at ''minimum'' acceptance, though! (A truly Lawful Good mate will probably be understanding of getting magic'd into sex against their will - unless their mate was just plain being an idiot about it, or it started happening suspiciously often...) Lawful Good characters make the best lovers because they will be appropriately careful, but generous and preferring to give pleasure. === Neutral Good === Neutral Good characters wish to do good in the world - and this applies even to their sexuality. They tend to be motivated to leave their partner happier for having been with them - whatever this might mean. (A prime example of a Neutral Good alignment - at least in somewhat sexual contexts - is a master masseuse, not interested in sex itself but rather in bringing pleasure - which doesn't have to mean sex at all.) Neutral Good characters make the best lovers because they will focus on what makes ''you'' happy above all else. === Chaotic Good === Chaotic Good characters tend to be rebellious towards cultural norms, but respectful towards others views - doing what they think is right. They tend to be the types to strongly favor expressing individuality, especially in repressive societies. Chaotic Good characters make the best lovers because their wild nature is tempered only by a desire to bring happiness to their partners. === Lawful Neutral === Lawful Neutral characters value traditions and norms. As with Lawful Good characters, Lawful Neutrals tend to be thoughtful of consequence, controlled in nature. Unlike Lawful Good characters, they will do so even where it is less pleasurable for themselves or others. Lawful Neutral characters make the best lovers because they work within the rules, respecting your cultural traditions through and through without fail. === True Neutral === True Neutral characters can be almost anywhere on the map, wavering between any combination of alignments seen here. They could be virtuous or unfaithful, dedicated or casual. They often take the path of least resistance (for example, being faithful in hopes that their mate is the same way). Characters who ''actively'' pursue fullest neutrality - the equilibrium that many believe upholds the world - have a tough time working with sexuality - flat-out choosing to avoid it, or partnering only with other seekers of the equilibrium. Any other alignment is bound to result in conflicts at some point. True Neutral characters make the best lovers because you don't need to assume anything of them - they can bend with the flow. === Chaotic Neutral === Chaotic Neutral characters tend to be all about doing what feels like the good idea at that moment. They blatantly disregard social norms, rarely pause to consider the impact of their actions on others, and often think only for themselves, leaving emotional issues behind just as often as they fix them or resolve things cleanly. Chaotic Neutral characters make the best lovers because they will be wild and free, almost without exception. Those who like humor in their sexual partners may find Chaotic Neutral characters ideal too... Though they might be the butt of the humor, too. === Lawful Evil === Lawful Evil characters tend to respect laws and traditions, but also tend to seek to receive pleasure ''far'' more than giving it. Sex is a tool and source of power, and a great way to express your power over others. It's also good to garner favor with those above them. Lawful Evil characters make the best lovers because they will use you as long as they please... And ones who are sexually active tend to be ''really'' good dominatrices. (Truly submissive Lawful Evil characters are relatively rare - but not unheard of!) === Neutral Evil === Neutral Evil characters do whatever they think they can get away with. Sex either gives them pleasure, or is used to gain, and they could care less about what it does to others. They abuse, control, and even prostitute others, betraying and deceiving with a natural flair. Neutral Evil characters make the best lovers for similar reasons to Lawful Evil characters. Ironically, few sexual pairings match quite as well as a pair of lovers who are Neutral Evil and Neutral Good - though the rest of their relationship is a surefire road to ruin, the combination of an inherent giver and an inherent taker just ''works'' in the sack. === Chaotic Evil === Chaotic Evil characters often seek sex ''specifically'' to hurt others. Masochism is common, rape is viewed as preferable, and abuse is just the way they roll. Notice that we're not even going to try to justify Chaotic Evil characters being good lovers - they're ''not''. === Sexual Alignment as an Independent Factor === Many characters who are otherwise paragons of one alignment can be completely (or just subtly) different when it comes to their sexuality. The Succubus can be a shining of this - Chaotic Evil by their nature, but acting like almost any alignment on the spectrum sexually. A Succubus whose sexual nature is Chaotic Good in spite of themselves being the usual Chaotic Evil, for example, sees the bringing of pleasure to others as inherently corrupting and thus useful to their end goals, but also inherently enjoyable outside of that.
