''Inumimi'' are a major case against experimental transmutation (scientific, arcane, divine, or all of the above, depending on setting) being performed on humanoids. The result of merging dog-like features into humans, their dog-like tendencies are more internal than external - usually. The resulting species is fully fertile, but also capable of turning other humanoids into them. ''Personality:'' Inumimi have as wide a personality range as most species, but tend to have at least two stereotypical dog-like tendencies in their psyche - particularly, they are known for their collective loyalty to one another and to their allies. An Inumimi who devotes themself to a cause does so with intense gusto. ''Physical Description:'' Inumimi are most typically compared to humans - if a bit taller and more muscular in build. More noteworthy are their dog-like ears (which can match with almost any dog breed) and, occasionally, tails - both usually the same color as their hair and skin (barring dyes). ''Alignment:'' A being turned into an Inumimi keeps its alignment. A natural-born Inumimi will develop per the culture around it, with significant Lawful tendencies. ''Religion:'' Any god whose priesthood doesn't refer to Inumimi as 'abominations', 'freaks', or similar derogatory terms is prone to have at least some Inumimi worshippers. Surprisingly, this includes many gods of nature - who view their relative closeness to true species of nature as something to envy, if not openly seek to emulate. ''Language:'' Inumimi learn Common, and seem to inherently know Dog. They also tend to develop languages of the cultural area around them. == Player character Inumimi == * '''+2 Dexterity, +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom''': Inumimi (with exceptions) tend to not be quite as smart as humans, but are famously strong. * '''Medium Size''': Inumimi do not receive any size adjustments. * '''Inumimi''': Inumimi are humanoids with the (Inumimi) Subtype. * '''Speed''': A Inumimi's base land speed is 40 feet. * '''Low-Light Vision''' * '''Keen Hearing''': Inumimi ears aren't just for looks - they have superior hearing to most beings. +2 to Awareness checks where hearing could help - no matter how subtly. * '''Howl''': Inumimi can communicate at a higher volume than most, and also can attempt to deafen enemies that are within ten feet of them, once per round and three times per day, as a free action - the victim must make a Fortitude save at DC 15+(ClassLevel/2), or be deafened for one minute. * '''Bound''': Inumimi are capable of jumps far greater than normal - they can jump double the forward distance that they would normally be allowed. * '''Claws''': Inumimi's nails, while as clippable as a typical human's, are ''much'' sharper. They have Claws as a natural weapon, dealing 1d3 damage... Unless they clip them. ** An Inumimi who consistently maintains clipped claws may take a bonus feat at 1st level. (If the claws ever develop enough to qualify as a weapon, the feat is permanently lost.) * '''Dodge''': An Inumimi is better able to block attacks due to slightly heightened reflexes. They gain the Dodge Feat at 1st level. * '''Camraderie''': Inumimi can make Diplomacy checks on dogs and feline creatures, and do so at a +4 bonus. ** '''Enmity''': Cats and feline creatures react to Inumimi at one step worse than they otherwise would (Neutral to Unfriendly). * '''Favored Class''': [[d20r:Hunter|Hunter]]. * '''Language''': Inumimi automatically know Common and Dog. Bonus Languages: As their former race, or if natural-born, any three relevant to their area.
